Cambridge Secondary 1

Cambridge Secondary 1

Cambridge Secondary 1, a world-class curriculum, develops skills and understanding in English, Mathematics and Science for the first three years of secondary education (Grade 6-8).

Key Features

A Foundation for Progression

Cambridge Secondary 1 provides excellent preparation for Cambridge IGCSE and other educational programmes.

External Benchmark

Cambridge Secondary 1 includes two testing options: Cambridge Secondary 1 Progression Tests and Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint. These assessments provide an international benchmark for student achievement, helping teachers to identify learners’ strengths and weaknesses as well as give them advice on their progression routes.

International Curriculum

Appropriate and relevant internationally, Cambridge Secondary 1 has been designed to be culturally sensitive. It includes top-quality teaching and assessment resources, appropriate for teaching and learning in local and international schools.

Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint

Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint Tests have been designed to assess learners at the end of Cambridge Secondary 1. They are available in English, Mathematics and Science and give valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of education.

The tests are marked in Cambridge and provide schools with an external international benchmark for learner performance. Each learner receives a statement of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report, giving schools detailed information as well as parents extra trust in the feedback they receive.

CIE hold Cambridge Secondary 1 Checkpoint Tests each year, in May and October. The tests cover all major areas of learning in the Cambridge Secondary 1 curriculum frameworks for English, Mathematics and Science.
