It has always been my dream to study in English ever since I studied in Charlotte, North Carolina for five weeks when I was in grade four. When I earned a scholarship from ISV, I was thrilled to finally embrace my dream. It was not easy at first, though. Being in an international environment was new to me, and the language barrier was quite high. However, growing to ISV with close friends who are now like my family was a valuable journey that I am proud of. From friends, I would catch repeatedly used phrases and learn the languages and culture naturally. Three years in ISV helped me to speak different languages, not only English but also few other second languages, through being able to use them regularly in lessons and at corridors. Not only that, I had various opportunities in ISV to become a balanced learner. I could join varsity basketball and soccer teams where I made close friends and I could sing and play music at school events every year. I could also organize a student-led project which let younger students in our school to learn Korean and Vietnamese Lunar New Year festival culture, I could have my artworks displayed in a group exhibition at school from time to time, and even more! I enjoyed exploring different things in school through which I found my interests. I am glad that I joined ISV which helped me to prepare for my next step towards a bigger and broader world!
